The Charities Committee selects local organisations to support throughout the year. This has included Cheshire Homes, Buk Bilong Pikinini, the children’s ward at Port Moresby General Hospital, World AIDS Day and the RSPCA.
Money is raised through non-uniform days, hair spray selling and other fun events. We also did a mass collection of toothbrushes and toothpaste for children in hospital which was fantastic.
The highlight in 2010 was the TEMIS gift box appeal – as a school we created over 200 shoeboxes filled with goodies for children in hospital. Students on the charities committee reminded and encouraged others to donate and inspired the school community to give generously. The TEMIS Christmas Tree was amazing!
