The school curriculum planning documents are based upon IEA Curriculum outcomes. The Curriculum Support documents for each subject outline the key subject content, suggested learning activities and indicators for each learning outcome. The Curriculum Support documents are used to guide the writing of unit plans and support the teaching of each subject. Key assessment tasks and indicators are discussed in planning teams, in consultation with the Deputy Principal (Curriculum) and identified on unit plans. Teachers incorporate both formative and summative assessment.
Students in Grades 3-8 sit the International Schools Assessment (ISA). This enables student progress to be compared to that of students in schools all over the world. It also enables us to identify trends with student learning so long term plans can be continually adapted and adjusted to achieve the best outcome for students.
